Objectives

SIMI is an international academic institute to promote:

the research and study of human mobility through an interdisciplinary approach;

professional training through a special curriculum including academic courses;

professional preparation through refresher courses, qualification and specialisation courses, and ongoing formation courses.

Methodology

SIMI

pursues a method of comparison and dialogue between disciplines;

places particular attention on aspects concerning human promotion, intercultural relations, and inter-religious dialogue;

co-operates with the Federation of Centers for Migration Studies "G.B. Scalabrini," universities and international institutes for the research and study of human mobility ;

favors an intercultural and interdisciplinary approach in its curricula, among the faculty and the students.

Beneficiaries

SIMI is addressed to all scholars, researchers and field workers who would like to become competent or to be updated in different aspects of human mobility, one of the great challenges for the Church and society.
